About Us
Our History
Our club has a rich history, having been established during World War II utilising a former military small arms range. That heritage of discipline, precision, and camaraderie continues to define who we are today.
We pride ourselves on being a small and friendly club, consisting of approximately 70 members. Our size is intentional — it allows us to maintain a welcoming, community-focused environment where every member is known.
We are Home Office approved and affiliated to both the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the National Small Bore Rifle Association (NSRA). We are also a registered Disability Hub Club with ramped access for wheelchair users throughout the site.
Due to limited range space, demand to join HRPC often exceeds our capacity. We carefully balance that demand with the number of members actively using the range.

Community & Development
While we don't have a formal coaching programme, we willingly offer advice and support to those new to the sport. There are both internal and external competitions that club members take part in, helping to improve individual skills over time.
For new members, we provide the use of a club air pistol and air rifle, as well as eye and hearing protection to get started. Once settled in, we look to members acquiring their own equipment.
Approximately every 13 weeks the ranges will be closed on the Sunday morning to carry out maintenance. All members are encouraged to attend if they can — the variety of duties suits all abilities.

Maintenance Days
Quarterly Sunday morning maintenance sessions — open to all abilities. A great way to contribute to the club and meet fellow members.
Facilities
Our site at Bournemouth International Airport provides everything needed for a productive shooting session.
Covered range for air pistols and rifles (sub 6/12 ft lbs) with a target retrieval system. Available year-round regardless of weather.
Caters for air rifles, .22LR rifles, firearms with established pistol calibres, and black powder guns.
Club air rifle and pistol available for use by new members, along with eye and hearing protection to get started.
A warm, welcoming clubroom with tea and coffee — the social heart of the club between sessions.
Plenty of parking available on site, conveniently located at Bournemouth International Airport.
An automated external defibrillator is kept on site for the safety of all members and visitors.
Ramped access throughout, disabled access toilet, and a registered Disability Hub Club. Excellent provision for those with mobility issues.
Please note: Due to range limitations, full bore rifles and shotguns are not permitted at HRPC.
